Organizational milestones, program announcements, and founder notes from Built Not Given Youth Initiative. Updates are posted as verified activity happens, consistent with BNG’s commitment to honest reporting.
A Chicago high school baseball team went undefeated in conference play this season. BNG founder Ruben Infante breaks down what changed when someone showed up to document their journey, and why that same media literacy now shapes how student-athletes get recruited.
The transfer portal, NIL, older college rosters and new NCAA eligibility rules are changing the path to college sports. BNG founder Ruben Infante breaks down what high school athletes and families should understand about the environment they are entering, and what they can still control.
Before Built Not Given Youth Initiative had a website, the work was already happening. Since the 2024–25 school year, 114 student-athletes have been served across three schools and six programs, including one in Chicago, Illinois, and 14 students have been trained in media and social content production. Some of this work was led by BNG’s founder before the organization was formed in February 2026. The rest has been carried out as BNG’s direct program activity since.
The season peaked in Jacksonville: the team whose playoff run he documented won an FHSAA Class 1A regional championship and reached the state Final Four at UNF Arena, falling only to the eventual state champions. Every game of that run was photographed, filmed, and told.
These results reflect verified, documented activity, the same standard BNG brings to everything it reports. See the full breakdown on the Impact page.
Editorial correction ·
The figures above were accurate to the records available when this item was published and are preserved as written. Subsequent reconciliation established a clearer distinction. BNG-direct post-formation service is 56 unique student-athletes across three schools and four documented sports programs, classified as BNG-attested organizational impact and not independently audited. The 114 figure is the broader qualified total of combined founder-led aligned work and early BNG organizational reach; it is not a BNG-only direct-service count, and the 56 is contained within it rather than added to it. An earlier 78 aggregate is superseded and should not be treated as a current headline metric. The description of those figures as “verified” is also withdrawn: the current count is BNG-attested and has not been independently audited. The original wording above is left unchanged as the historical record. See the Impact page for the current controlled figures.
